Profile:
Madhumita Sen (Saha) was born in Bhagalpur (Bihar), but she grew up
in Muzaffarpur She has a Master's degree in Psychology, in classical
music and in devotional music. She also specializes in Gazals and semi
classical music.
She has been awarded North Carolina Governor's award.
She started her initial lessons from Smt. Babli Bhattacharya. Later
she had the privilege of receiving extensive training and her present
remarkable talim, in the different styles of Hindustani classical vocal
music, from the nationally known vocalist artist of the Gwoliar Gharana
Late Pandit SitaramHaridandekar. His guidence helped Madhumita develop
the real essence of other styles in her music. With him, she acquired
new dimensions to her singing, giving it the required mastery of ragas
and voice culture. Late Pandit Sitaram Haridandekar was a disciple of
Late Pandit Vishnu Digamber Paluskar and he was the disciple of Late
Balakrishna Bua lchalkaranjikar.
